Here are our UFC 122 Predictions. We have only listed the 5 main card bouts in this article but we will try and add predictions for the preliminary bouts before Saturday, if we have time.
Nate ‘The Great’ Marquardt vs Yushin ‘Thunder’ Okami
The Main Event of UFC 122 will pit former UFC Middleweight number 1 contender Nate ‘The Great’ Marquardt against the highly rated Japanese fighter Yushin ‘Thunder’ Okami in a match up that may well determine who will face current UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva in the near future.
Nate ‘The Great’ Marquardt is a constant challenger in the middleweight division and has successful wins over Jeremy Horn, Martin Kampmann, Wilson Gouveia and was the first person to defeat the always dangerous Demian Maia via KO in 21 seconds of the very first round.
Yushin ‘Thunder’ Okami is an excellent challenger in the Middleweight division and has a devastating mix of stand up, wrestling and submission at his disposal and is a very worthy challenge to any fighter in his weight class.
Prediction
This is a very intriguing match up with both fighters moving forwards towards a title shot in the UFC middleweight division, however I feel that Marquardt’s strength may be too much for Okami and I predict that Marquardt will win via TKO late in the match.Bet On UFC 122 @ SportsBook.Com Now!
Jorge ‘El Conquistador’ Rivera vs Alessio ‘Legionarius’ Sakara
This fight in the UFC Middleweight division should be explosive with 2 of the most entertaining 185lb fighters in the UFC battling it out to take their careers to the next level.
The former Ultimate Fighter Cast member Jorge ‘El Conquistador’ Rivera is looking to follow on from his impressive win over Nate Quarry and has since found a new inspiration to succeed in the octagon since the tragic passing of his daughter.
‘El Conquistador’ is primarily a Muay Thai fighter but he has developed an all round skill set but he will always look to try to keep the fight standing whenever possible.
The Italian fighter Alessio ‘Legionarius’ Sakara is currently on a 3 fight winning streak in the UFC and we are now beginning to see what a great fighter he is now becoming.
Prediction
A hard fight to call with Rivera finding a new hunger for the sport following the unfortunate passing of his daughter and with Sakara finally getting the wins he deserves with highly impressive victories over 2 very tough UFC Middleweight fighters. I feel that this will be a close back and forth fight but I feel the advantage will be with Rivera’s speed and impressive clinch game and I think he will snatch the victory late in the 3rd round.Bet On UFC 122 @ SportsBook.Com Now!
Amir Sadollah vs Peter Sobotto
A UFC Welterweight bout that see’s 2 of the best up and comers in the division going head to head.
Sadollah is one of the UFC’s most recognisable fighters with his appearance (and eventual winner) on the 7th series of The Ultimate Fighter and is trying to prove to be one of the best fighters in the UFC Welterweight division, not bad for a former nurse!
Sadollah is a very rounded athlete, with skills in all departments – particularly in the stand up with his highly efficient Muay Thai and Sambo skills.
Peter Sobotto is a newer addition to the UFC Welterweight division with this being his 3rd fight in the octagon. Unfortunately Sobotto has not had much luck in the UFC having lost both of his 2 fights in the UFC and he is in desperate need of a win to extend his current 3 fight contract.
Sobotto is primarily a submission fighter that favours a kickboxing style in the stand up and is a very dangerous fighter if he can pull you in to his ground game.
Prediction
A very important bout for both fighters looking to re ignite their UFC careers as both fighters are coming off of losses. Styles make fights and I feel that both fighters are very different in there approach to a fight with Sadollah being a stand up fighter and Sobotto being a submission fighter. However even though Sobotto has the home advantage I feel that the stand up skill set of Sadollah will prove too much for the Polish/German fighter. Sadollah to win via TKO in the 2nd round.Bet On UFC @ SportsBook.Com Now!
Dennis Siver vs Andre Winner
A UFC Lightweight bout that pits former TUF finalist Andre Winner against the very dangerous German/Russian fighter Dennis Siver.
Andre Winner is an excellent new UK prospect fighting out of one of Britain’s most successful fight teams, Team Rough House. Primarily a stand up fighter with a Karate and boxing background he does need to concentrate on his ground game, in particular his takedown defence if he is to climb the ladder of the UFC Lightweight division.
Dennis Siver is a very dangerous fighter that has picked up two knockout of the night awards and a fight of the night award in his last 4 fights. Sivers is a dangerous all round fighter that will try to keep the fight standing so he can utilise his Sambo and Kickboxing; however if the fight does go to ground Sivers will be more than able to take care of himself with a very decent BJJ skill set.
Prediction
A highly interesting match up which sees 2 up and coming Lightweight warriors trying to make a name for themselves in the UFC. However on this occasion I feel that Siver will have the edge in this fight as he has faced much tougher competition in his career than Winner and as he also has the home advantage with UFC 122 being held in Germany. Siver to win by decision. My tip for fight of the night.Receive $100 In Bonuses @ SportsBook.Com Now!
Krzysztof ‘The Polish Experiment’ Soszynski vs Goran Reljic
A UFC Light Heavyweight match in which both fighters want to dominate to try andforward themselves in their careers as professional fighters.
‘The Polish Experiment’ is a TUF season 8 veteran losing in the semi finals. One of the UFC’s biggest characters, Soszynski is a well loved fighter who is trying to carve out his rightful place in the Light Heavyweight division.
Soszynski is a highly gifted athlete and has crossed over to MMA from a stint as a Bodybuilder and Pro wrestler before deciding to make his career as an MMA fighter. Soszynski is a strong fighter with excellent ground ‘n’ pound, good boxing and a good takedown offence/defence.
Goran Reljic is at a turning point in his career losing 2 of his 3 UFC bouts. A Submission specialist and former Europen GracieJiu Jitsu champion, Reljic is a handful for anyone if he can take the fight to the ground. Reljic is looking to push himself into a renewed contract with the UFC and unfortunately only a win will do.
Prediction
This is another tight fight to call given the fact that both fighter’s are the complete opposite of each other. Soszynski is a Ground ‘N’ Pound specialist and Reljic being a Submission specialist. I feel that this match up will be quite tentative from both fighters and who ever implements their game plan first will get the victory. I would give a slight edge to Soszynski with him being more of a natural 205lb fighter, seeing that reljic flits between 185lb/205lb. Soszynski TKO 2nd round.Get $100 Of Free Bets @ SportsBook.Com!
