UFC 115 Predictions

It’s time for some UFC 115 Predictions. Yet another Ultimate Fighting Championship event has been scheduled – and this time, the venue will be north of the border. The General Motors Place in Vancouver, British Columbia – Canada will be the venue for all 11 of the fights. This event is being held Saturday June 12th, 2010. This will be the fourth UFC event to be held in Canada, and the event is sold out. In fact, the event sold out in 30 minutes, which set a UFC record.

Ultimate Fighting Championship 115 has a feature fight between Chuck Liddell and Rich Franklin. We expect this to be an excellent fight. Franklin is listed at most sports books as the favorite. The margin is very small, and subject to change before the June 12th event. Franklin has the age advantage, with younger legs. Liddell appears to have a bit of the power advantage, which we feel, will be the difference. Our official Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin prediction: Liddell wins in a knockout.

Mirko Cro Cop and Patrick Barry will go at it in the Heavyweight bout on the main card of UFC 115. Within a week of the main event, the odds makers have yet to release official odds for this fight. We are still willing to make a prediction for this fight. Both of the fighters have a great background in mixed martial arts. We love the way both of these men fight. Barry looks to be performing well, but the general public has not seen him as much as Filipovic. Our official Mirko Cro Cop vs. Patrick Barry prediction: Barry wins this fight via submission.

Our favorite fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship 115 event is the Welterweight bout between Paulo Thiago vs. Martin Kampmann. Both of these fighters are mean dudes that have the ability to throw some mean blows. Thiago has only lost one fight in his career. Kampmann – from Denmark is coming off a solid win via submission over Jacob Volkmann. Our official Paulo Thiago vs. Martin Kampmann prediction: Thiago wins this fight via unanimous decision and continues to roll through the UFC circuit.

In one of the Lightweight bouts on the preliminary card of UFC 115 is Tyson Griffin vs. Evan Durham. Both of these two have come in a little under the radar, despite Durham having a perfect record as a professional fighter. Griffin held his own against Edgar and Sherk, but we do not feel he will have enough in this fight. Our official Tyson Griffin vs. Evan Durham prediction: Durham wins in a knockout, and continues his way up the UFC ladder.

In another Lightweight bout on the preliminary card Mac Danzig will take on Matt Wiman. Both of these fighters have shown some signs of brilliancy in their early fighting career. Danzig appears to have a few more weapons as a fighter than Wiman. Danzig has struggled of late, losing three of his last four fights. Wiman, despite losing, was impressive in his fight against Fisher. Both fighters have an average record, so no titles are in the near future for either. Our official Mac Danzig vs. Matt Wiman prediction: Danzig wins the fight, via submission.

Other UFC 115 fights include: Ben Rothwell vs. Gilbert Yvel. Rothwell looks to have the upper hand in that one. Carlos Condit will take on Rory Macdonald. Macdonald is from Canada, so he will have the fan advantage. We prediction Macdonald will use that advantage and come away with a submission win over Condit. Other bouts on the preliminary card that is not feature on Spike TV include: David Loiseau of Canada against Mario Miranda of Brazil; James Wilks of Great Britain against Peter Sobotta; Ricardo Funch of Brazil against Claude Patrick of Canada. Lastly, Mike Pyle of the United States will take on Jesse Lennox, also an American fighter.
