This fight is sure to be one of the most entertaining fights on the UFC 91 card. Kenny Florian made the final on the 1st series of “The Ultimate Fighter”where he lost to Diego Sanchez via KO. Joe Stevenson won the second series with a unanimous decision, which won him a UFC contract. Of the two fighters Stevenson is far more experienced, with a record of 29 wins, 20 by stoppage and only 8 loses. Kenny Florian has a much shorter record although he has only three losses to his name, which include Sean Sherk and Diego Sanchez.

Joe Stevenson has some excellent submissions and also has good submission defence. In his last fight he was far from impressive against Gleison Tibau and was close to losing the bout, although eventually he managed to finish the fight with a Guillotine Choke.

Different Styles (Stand Up Vs. Take Down)

Florian, infamous for his elbow shots, will likely want to keep the fight standing up while Stevenson will probably want to take the fight to the ground and pound down on Kenny or even try for a submission. Although as with many fights they may come in and do the complete opposite of what we expect to throw their opponent of.

Final Thoughts

I can see Kenny Florian winning this fight via submission, although I personally won’t be placing a bet unless the odds change at a later date. I can see this fight being close, so I won’t rule out placing a late bet on Joe Stevenson winning.
