On the 6th August 2011 the Wells Fargo Centre in Philadelphia plays host to the UFC 133 event which was expected to feature the first title defence for Jon Jones against former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans. Sadly this fight was never announced on the card because Jones tore a ligament in his hand. Jones is now expected to defend his title against Quinton Jackson at UFC 135.

The main event of UFC 133 is a light heavyweight bout between Rashad Evans and Tito Ortiz. Dana White announced Tito Ortiz as a late replacement for Phil Davis on the 12th July. A win, win situation for Ortiz. If he loses he can claim that he didn’t have enough time to prepare and if he wins, which is very possible, he puts himself back in contention for a title fight.
The co-main event is middleweight bout between Vitor Belfort and Yoshihiro Akiyama. Originally the co-main event was a light heavyweight bout between Antônio Rogério Nogueira and Rich Franklin. Sadly Nogueira pulled out due to a shoulder injury sustained in training. Franklin also pulled out as no opponent could be found in time. This change promoted Belfort Vs Akiyama to be named the co-main event.
