After winning his WEC debut, Curran went on a four fight skid in the promotion, albeit against all solid talent. Since then, he has been fighting in other promotions, most notably losing to Brian Goldsby in Bellator.
Jeff Curran vs Scott Jorgensen Odds;
Jorgensen is a WEC veteran, and fought for the vacant UFC bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz in the final WEC event. Jorgensen fell short, however he rebounded with a brutal knockout win over Ken Stone in his UFC debut.
Stylistically, this is a tough fight to call. Curran’s wrestling is underrated, and Jorgensen’s striking is overrated. I think it’s within the realm of possibilities that Curran keeps this standing and knocks him out, but one has to think Jorgensen’s wrestling and activity will make the difference here.
The Jeff Curran vs Scott Jorgensen prediction is that Jorgensen wins a lopsided decision on control, but I’m not willing to bet on it at -450. As big of a mismatch as I think this is, Curran has the tools to beat anyone in the world, even though he’ll likely fall short once again.
Conclusion: Jorgensen’s wrestling should be too much for Curran, but at -450, there’s almost never value in MMA.
