Two Brazilian mixed martial arts fighters will get together on Saturday August 28th, 2010 in the Middleweight bout. Demian Maia will take on Mario Miranda. This fight, along with 10 others will make up the popular Ultimate Fighting Championship. This is event 118. The fights will all take place at the TD Garden in Boston, MA.

Demian Maia was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He still currently fights for Wand Fight Team out of Sao Paulo. The 32-year-old mixed martial arts fighter holds a 12-2 career record. He uses his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Boxing skills to lead the way for himself. His most recent fight; was a loss to Anderson Silva, as part of UFC 112 in April of 2010. Before that, Maia beat Dan Miller at UFC 109 in Las Vegas.
Mario Miranda is from Rio de Janeiro originally, but now fights out of Seattle, Washington. Standing at 6’4, and weighing 185lbs, Miranda holds a 12-1 record as a professional mixed martial arts fighter. His lone loss came on March 31st of 2010 when Gerald Harris TKO’d him in Charlotte, as part of UFC Fight Night. Since then, Miranda has bounced back and TKO’d David Loiseau in Vancouver.
