A wrestler vs wrestler style match up which will probably end up being a stand up battle as both fighters may end up neutralising themselves if taken to the ground. Dolloway is a very intense character who will always look for holes in his opponents’ game, but will often over reach and get get caught in a situation that he need not have been in. Munoz is a fighter through and through with very heavy hands and excellent ground ‘n’ pound. Both fighters are not afraid to stand and go at it with their opponent and this is where I feel that Munoz will have the upper hand. I feel that Munoz will look for the knock out but will be more than happy to take the fight to the ground as he is the physically stronger of the two and will try to finish him on the mat. I predict Munoz to take the win late in the fight either via TKO in the 3rd round or more likely via decision.

Our CB Dolloway Vs Mark Munoz Prediction is that Munoz will get the win via decision.

An excellent first UFC bout for both fighters looking to introduce the Bantamweight division to the UFC and secure a place in higher tier of the division. Both fighters are very well rounded with great power in their hands and excellent submission skill sets. Bowles has probably got the edge over Page due to the fact he has faced and beat the very best in the Bantamweight division and also holds a submission victory over his UFC on versus opponent Damacio Page. I feel however, that this time round the fight will be a lot closer and expect it to be at a very high pace. My Brian Bowles vs Damacio Page prediction is that even though it will be a tougher contest for Bowles, he will still manage to secure the win. Bowles to win via TKO in the 2nd round.

UFC 125 promises to bring in the new year with a bang. For the first UFC card of 2011, Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar will attempt to avenge his only loss in a rematch with number one contender Gray Maynard. The Co-Main Event should be a zinger, with Chris Leben and Brian Stan facing off in what is likely to be a fight for the ages. Not to mention Clay Guida and Takanori Gomi will be meeting in a classic matchup of iron chin versus unstoppable knockout power. To round out the Main Card Nate Diaz will face-off against Dong Hyun Kim, and Brandon Vera will meet up with Thiago Silva, both returning for the first time in nearly a year. Even the Preliminary Card boasts big names, such as Marcus Davis, Phil Baroni, and Mike Brown just to name a few.

It is amazing that UFC 125 is looking to be such a great card as it has been absolutely plagued by injuries. The original Co-Main Event was to be Shane Carwin vs. Roy Nelson, but Carwin had to pull out due to a back injury. Then the replacement Co-Main Event with Jose Aldo defending his Featherweight Title against Josh Grispi was canceled as well thanks to an injury suffered by the defending champion. While Josh Grispi has been given a replacement bout on the Prelims Roy Nelson has since been pulled from the card completely with no scheduled bout in sight. Alas, UFC 125 was almost a disaster, but has since shaped up to look like it could be one of the best cards in 2011. So without further ado let’s make some predictions.

Main Event
LIghtweight Championship Bout: Frankie Edgar (c) vs. Gray Maynard

The biggest shakeup that occurred in the UFC in 2010 was perhaps in its lightest division. Frankie Edgar’s dethroning of BJ Penn, who most have crowned the greatest lightweight in MMA history, happened at UFC 112. Still, the legitimacy of Edgar’s win was doubted and the two had a rematch at UFC 118. This time there was no doubt that Edgar had indeed dethroned the legend. Still Edgar doesn’t have an easy road ahead of him, as he now must face the only man to have beaten him, Gray Maynard. Maynard is undefeated, and is licking his chops to take the belt from a man he’s already defeated once before. While the fight probably won’t be a barnburning brawl there is little doubt the matchup between the two will be an interesting one, as stylistically it’s perhaps the the most high profile matchup to date of stick and move boxing a la Dominick Cruz vs. grinding wrestling, a la Jon Fitch.

When it comes to predicting a winner, the majority of oddsmakers have chosen Gray Maynard as the favorite. Once again Frankie Edgar has been overlooked and is the underdog going into a title fight. So far though, Edgar has thrived in this environment. Granted, this is the first time Edgar will be fighting someone who has defeated him so perhaps the underdog status is justified. Regardless, this matchup largely comes down to who can dictate where the fight takes place. If Edgar can keep Maynard at bay with his stick and move style, then he should easily coast to his second title defense. However, if Maynard can control Edgar on the ground, then he should be able to coast to a decision win and become the new champ. So the question that arises is who is better in the weaker parts of their game? The answer is that Frankie Edgar’s wrestling is easily superior to Gray Maynard’s striking, as Edgar is the only man to take down BJ Penn at lightweight in years. Expect Edgar’s wrestling to be more than enough to keep the fight on the feet with Maynard, and expect him to totally outclass Maynard there. Frankie Edgar will retain his belt via Unanimous Decision.

Bet On UFC 125 @ Bodog.Com Now!

Co-Main Event
Middleweight Bout: Chris Leben vs. Brian Stann

The Co-Main Event of the evening isn’t perhaps the highest stakes fight on the undercard of the evening (that honor probably belongs to Clay Guida and Takanori Gomi’s bout) but it is likely going to be the Fight of the Night. Chris Leben is rarely in a boring minute much less a boring round, and Brian Stann is game as well. Stann also just recently dropped from Light Heavyweight to Middleweight and the already strong ex-marine’s power should prove even more dominating against the lighter Middleweights. While the fight is largely being promoted as a fight between two brawlers, Brian Stann is actually more well-rounded than most people think, and Chris Leben is coming off of a submission win over Yoshihiro Akiyama so he is clearly evolving as well. Regardless, it’s no secret that the two like to bring it, and that’s exactly what everyone wants.

Predicting how this fight will go down is almost as difficult as predicting where lightning will strike, as it could literally end at any minute. If Stann fights a smart fight, the former WEC Champion might be able to mix some grappling in with his striking and pullout a well-earned decision against “The Crippler.” In the meantime Chris Leben is going to be doing what he always does, which is try to knock Brian Stann’s head off. With Stann’s willingness to stand in the pocket, expect “The Crippler” to do just that sometime in the 3rd round. Chris Leben wins this via 3rd round TKO.

Bet On UFC 125 @ Bodog.Com Now!

Light Heavyweight Bout: Brandon Vera vs. Thiago Silva

The matchup between Brandon Vera and Thiago Silva is a very intriguing one. The match isn’t quite one between top 10 fighters, but they are both certainly circling that elite group of contenders. In fact, it is very likely that the winner of this fight could be looking towards a top ten opponent in their near future, and the loser could be looking for a new job. Definitely a high stakes match, if not necessarily for the division at the very least for the two men. It will be interesting to see how the both of them rebound from a loss after being out for nearly a year each, Thiago Silva being out since UFC 108 last January and Brandon Vera being out since UFC on Versus 1 in March.

There really is no clear favorite going into this fight as stylistically speaking neither one is a particularly good or bad matchup for the other. Both fighters have Knockout capabilities, and both fighters possess what seem to be mediocre chins, although Silva seems to have an advantage in both of those categories. The counter is that Brandon Vera is faster than Thiago Silva and seeing as how he’s fought at Heavyweight is very used to utilizing his speed advantage. Ultimately, it is unlikely that Vera can dodge Silva for any lengthy amount of time though, and expect Silva to make a statement with a rebound 1st round KO win over Brandon Vera.

Bet On UFC @ Bodog.Com Now!

Welterweight Bout: Nate Diaz vs. Dong Hyun Kim

With all the hype surrounding virtually every other match this is an easy one to overlook, but it will really be a gut check for each fighter. After putting a wrestling clinic on Amir Sadollah last May, Dong Hyun Kim is looking to get another win over a fairly big name opponent. Nate Diaz meanwhile will be facing a very different opponent than his last two at welterweight, as they were both strikers. If Diaz hopes to cement himself as a solid Welterweight that’s in the division to stay, he’ll need to prove himself against a top notch wrestler such as Kim as the top of the Welterweight division is heavily dominated by high level wrestlers.

In this fight Nate Diaz’s takedown defense will be tested, and it will eventually fail. Dong Hyun Kim will take Nate Diaz down after being completely outclassed in the stand-up, but he won’t get any takedowns easy. The ironic thing about this though is that although Kim’s best chance for victory would appear to be turning this into a grappling match, Diaz is perhaps more dangerous on the ground than standing up. As a matter of fact nine of Nate Diaz’s thirteen career wins come by submission. Expect Diaz to catch a tiring, beat up Kim sometime in the third round. Nate Diaz wins this by 3rd round submission.

Visit Bodog.Com To Bet On UFC Today!

Lightweight Bout: Clay Guida vs. Takanori Gomi

The first bout of the Main Card should be an exciting one, as the always entertaining Clay Guida will face-off against the equally entertaining Takanori Gomi. Both of them have some momentum right now, and the winner of this fight will likely be just one or two wins away from being the Number One Contender at Lightweight. The stakes haven’t been this high for either fighter in quite awhile, and knowing such expect both fighters to try to make a statement.

Stylistically speaking Guida is basically a brawling wrestler with insane cardio, thus is able to fight at an incredibly high pace. Takanori Gomi on the other hand possesses legendary knockout power in his hands, but Clay Guida’s chin is almost as legendary thanks to his fight with Diego Sanchez. Unless Takanori Gomi can actually knock Clay Guida out, he has almost no chance of winning this, and unless he can do it in the 1st round his chances will almost certainly have slipped away, as Gomi will be tired out from trying to keep up with Guida’s frenetic pace. It is unlikely that Guida will be able to actually finish Gomi, but expect Guida to take this fight with a Unanimous Decision in a highly entertaining fashion.

UFC 124 is scheduled to take place December 11, 2010 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. The Main event of UFC 124 is, of course, Georges St-Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck for the Welterweight Championship. The fight has been hyped for months courtesy of season twelve of The Ultimate Fighter causing the UFC to advertise very little thus far for the event, betting that the show will bring in enough viewers and that their second highest PPV seller, GSP, can bring in the money for them with little to no further effort on their part. Regardless, there are plenty of other great fights on the card, as that one is simply the biggest. Without further ado, let’s begin making some ufc 124 predictions.

This fight has been a long time coming, as it’s been since August of 2007 since the two last met. Although at this point it seems somewhat ridiculous to think that anyone could possibly stand a chance against GSP, it should be noted that Josh Koscheck is the last person to win a round on any judge’s scorecard against the pride of Canada. Another interesting side note is that St-Pierre used the fight with Koscheck to really emerge as a world class wrestler, outwrestling the NCAA All-American Koscheck and every other opponent since. Since their last meeting however, Koscheck has really evolved into much more than a wrestler, and is really a well-rounded fighter now, able to stand or grapple depending on what seems the most beneficial for him at the time. With this in mind if Koscheck can actually stuff GSP’s takedowns it could lead to some very interesting action. It should be noted that GSP hasn’t become completely one dimensional with his wrestling either, and has actually been working on his boxing with famed trainer Freddie Roach.

This fight is both easy and difficult to predict. The most common projection for this fight is basically a repeat of their last fight but with even more dominance shown by St-Pierre. While this is entirely plausible, it’s not necessarily the truth. If in fact Koscheck can keep the fight standing, there is a chance he could catch GSP and score a massive upset a la Matt Serra several years back. However, due to said upset GSP’s striking has become extremely underrated and it should not be assumed that just because St-Pierre can’t take Koscheck down that he’s going to lose. St-Pierre has been working on his stand up as mentioned above and could potentially knock out Koscheck himself. Either way when it comes to picking a winner for this fight, one has to go with Georges St-Pierre. Even if GSP can’t take down Koscheck immediately his striking is good enough to set one up eventually and expect this to happen periodically throughout the fight. Even if Koscheck has improved, he hasn’t improved enough to hang with the champ.

Georges St-Pierre Vs Josh Koscheck Prediction : Georges St-Pierre will win this, but Koscheck will hang in there to the final bell giving GSP another Unanimous Decision victory.

In the build up to this rather pivotal heavyweight bout there has been some interesting banter back and forth between these two fighters, with Sean McCorkle saying some downright borderline offensive things. McCorkle has indeed talked a good deal of trash but now he will face the much, ahem, taller task of backing it up. Stefan Struve is no pushover, and though he’s had some rough fights he has come out all the better from them and signs point to this young man learning from his past mistakes. Only time will tell what lies in store for Struve.

Regardless as to any prefight shenanigans, the fight promises plenty in the cage. Stefan Struve has a style that is rarely boring, and if we know anything about McCorkle from his fight with Mark Hunt it’s that he’s game for some excitement as well. Alas, the fact that McCorkle only has one fight in the UFC is what is most likely to hurt him. Stefan Struve, though not incredibly experienced, is more experienced than Sean McCorkle. This experience will come into play throughout the fight, as the well-rounded Struve will have the answer for anything McCorkle can throw at him.

Jim Miller vs. Charles Oliveira is an exciting matchup between two fighters rising up the ranks. Jim Miller has been climbing the lightweight ladder for two years now, and other than a loss to Gray Maynard in 2008 has won all of his UFC fights. Charles Oliveira on the other hand has only had two UFC fights but has shot up the ranks quickly after winning them both in a dominating fashion. There is quite a lot of hype surrounding Oliveira at this point in his career and it shows as he is the favorite going into this fight. People are overlooking Jim Miller however, apparently not realizing his only two losses are to Gray Maynard and current Lightweight Champ Frankie Edgar, the top two men in the lightweight division at the moment.

With all this said, the real question is how well do Miller and Oliveira match up? The answer is very interesting, as both men have the majority of their wins via submission. Now the hype on Oliveira surrounds his BJJ, so one can expect him to come into this fight wielding superior submissions, which is Miller’s favorite way to finish fights. Jim Miller is no stranger to decisions though, and is perfectly capable of grinding one out. Although on paper it seems like a fight Miller is destined to lose, the scrappy veteran shouldn’t be counted out, as he has won all but two of his fights, and the two losses come from the most elite of opponents. Expect Miller to score the minor upset and derail the Charles Oliveira hype train, and perhaps finally place a little hype around himself in the process.

Our Jim Miller Vs Charles Oliveira Prediction : Jim Miller takes this one via Unanimous Decision.

Joe Stevenson vs. Mac Danzig is a fight between two men who have traveled down some rough roads recently. Both of them are coming off of a loss, although perhaps Danzig’s isn’t deserved, and both men desperately need a win to have any hope of getting into the title picture any time soon. That said, Joe Stevenson is by far the more experienced of the two men and has actually competed for the title once in the past. Stevenson is a heavy favorite going into this fight and it’s easy to understand why, as Danzig is 1-4 in his last five fights, all against less than elite opponents. While Stevenson’s record isn’t much better, at 2-3 in his last five, his losses have come to the likes of George Sotiropoulos, Kenny Florian, and Diego Sanchez, all top ten opponents.

Knowing how Mac Danzig and Joe Stevenson have fared in their recent fights, it is likely that Joe Stevenson will come out on top in this one. Joe Stevenson has the lion’s share of his wins by submission (15) and decision (10), while the majority of Danzig’s losses come via Decision (5). Seeing as how Danzig only has one legitimate loss via submission in his career, it is unlikely that Joe Stevenson will submit him on this night.

Expect Joe Stevenson to control Mac Danzig and come out with a dominating Unanimous Decision.

So that is our Joe Stevenson Vs Mac Danzig Prediction. Bet On UFC 124 @ Bodog.Com Now!

Following the debacle around the weigh-ins in his last fight with Jon Fitch, Thiago Alves is going to be looking for some redemption in his fight with John Howard. While it’s hard to admit that John Howard has really earned a fight with a top competitor like Thiago Alves, it is certain that Howard knows he has the opportunity of a lifetime in front of him. Howard will be going into this fight a heavy underdog, and if he can actually pull out this win it will shoot him up the ranks lightning fast. Expect this fight to be full of fireworks and quite possibly wind up Fight of the Night.

Now with John Howard being hungry and knowing full well he is being faced with the biggest fight of his career, expect him to come looking to prove the naysayers wrong about him not deserving this fight. Howard would love to win this fight, and win it in devastating fashion, forever making his mark on the Welterweight division. If we know anything about Thiago Alves though, it’s that he’ll being coming to fight, and after last time we should expect little hesitation from him. The only real issue here is how much the weight cut will affect Alves. If Alves comes in to this fight in shape, there is absolutely no reason to believe that he can’t KO John Howard. If the weight cut deeply affects Alves as it did last time, John Howard should be more than capable of capitalizing on it and finishing off Alves.

So our Thiago Alves Vs John Howard Prediction for this fight is a healthy Alves wins via 2nd round KO, and an unhealthy Alves loses via 2nd round KO.

Below you will find a fight overview, and then our Demian Maia Vs Kendall Grove Prediction followed finally by the latest Demian Maia Vs Kendall Grove Odds which are updated daily.

Demian Maia – 6ft, 185lbs – Fights out of Sao Paulo, Brazil and represents the Wand Fight Team. A Brazilian Jiu Jitsu phenom, Maia holds a 2nd degree Black Belt in the discipline and is widely regarded as one of the very best submission fighters competing in MMA and holds 4 submission of the night awards in the UFC. Maia is a former UFC Middleweight number 1 contender and he is looking towards reaching that goal again.

Maia holds an MMA record of 13 – 2 with a UFC record of 7 – 2 with very good wins over Chael Sonnen, Nate Quarry, Dan Miller and Mario Miranda. Maia’s only losses were against Nate Marquardt via a freak flash K.O. in 21 seconds of the very first round and against the UFC’s current Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva. Although primarily a BJJ fighter, Maia has a very good stand up game that includes excellent takedowns and takedown defence.

Kendall ‘Da Spyder’ Grove – 6ft 6”, 185lbs – hails out of Maui, Hawaii and fights for B.J. Penn MMA. An Ultimate Fighter season 3 winner ‘Da Spyder’ beat the highly rated Ed Herman at the TUF finale via unanimous decision. A former high school wrestler, Grove placed sixth in the state of Hawaii.

‘Da Spyder’ has an MMA record of 14 – 7 with a UFC record of 7 – 4 with notable wins over Ed Herman, Alan Belcher, Jake Rosholt and former UFC Middleweight Champion the Late Evan Tanner. Grove uses his height and long limbs to great effect in the octagon and utilises a mixture of Muay Thai, Wrestling and BJJ to take on his opponents and has a never give up attitude that will be very hard to break down for any fighter he may be up against.

Demian Maia Vs Kendall Grove Prediction

In what promises to be a very intriguing match up, I feel that Maia’s skills as a BJJ practitioner will be too much for ‘Da Spyder’ to handle. I predict that Maia will take the win via submission in the 2nd round.

Demian Maia Vs Kendall Grove Odds

Below you will find Demian Maia Vs Kendall Grove Odds from our recommended UFC betting sites. Maia is a very big favourite at the moment, although his odds have dropped a little since being released. It may be worth holding out until the day of “The Ultimate Fighter 12″ before betting on Maia, if you fancy him to win.
